| Eleanor Wickland WAUKESHA - Eleanor Wickland of Waukesha died Monday, Dec. 13 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. She was 76. She was born March 22, 1923, in North Dakota to the late Henry and Marie (neeGoetz) Freed. She married John J. Wickland on Sept. 23, 1944. He preceded her in death in 1997. In 1941, she graduated from Girls Tech High School in Milwaukee. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church since 1971. She was a doll maker for many years, crafting porcelain dolls and winning many awards for them. She was the dear mother of John J. Wickland of West Allis, Geraldine (Thomas) Traub of Eagle, Georgianna (James) Whelan of Gilman, and Robert Wickland of Waukesha; loving grandmother of nine grandchildren; great-grandmother of four; and dear sister of Walter (Betty) Freed of Milwaukee. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; sister, Henrietta Haines; and brother, James Freed. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16 at St. Marys Catholic Church, at the corner of Hartwell and Newhall avenues in Waukesha. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Graveside services will follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park. Memorials are appreciated to the American Lung Association.
