Robert A. Christenson

MAPLETON - Robert A. Christenson of Mapleton died Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at the age of 73. He was born in the town of Toland on Aug. 26, 1926, the son of Charles Christenson and Amy VanDuesen. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving his county in World War II. On May 8, 1954, he married Lorraine Foster in Stone Bank. Robert worked for 20 years at Christiansen Lumber Co., and also worked for 20 years at the Carnation Company. He was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Alderley, a lifetime member of Neosho Masonic Lodge #108 F&AM, American Legion Post #289 in Mapleton and the VFW Post #2260 in Oconomowoc. Robert owned and operated Mapleton Antiques for many years and was an avid gardener.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; his children, Richard (Barb), Ronald, Robert (Kathy), Lorri (George) Christenson, and Lynn (Dan) Bohman; two brothers, Charles (Corrine), and Niles (Vonnie); one sister, Leah Schlieve; 11 grandchildren, Kelly, Kasey, Kevin, Robb, Chad, Brandon, Adam, Abby, Alissa, Lisa and Sara; and five great-grandchildren, Debbie, Samantha, Holly, Topanga and Destiny. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mabel Christopherson and Irene Christopherson.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at the Schmidt & Bartelt Notbohm-Kreutzmann Funeral Home, 121 S. Cross St., Oconomowoc; a Masonic Service will be held at 7 p.m. A second visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Thursday, Dec. 16, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, W653 Roosevelt Road, Alderley; the Rev. Larry Westfield will officiate. Interment will be at St. Olaf Cemetery. Memorials to the donor’s choice are appreciated.
