Dennis E. Kolton

WAUKESHA - Waukesha resident Dennis E. Kolton died Dec. 9, 1999, after a long battle with cancer, at his home at the age of 62. He was born in Inglewood, Calif., on April 23, 1937, to Stephen and Margaret (Miller) Kolton. He was a member of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Pebble Valley.

Dennis is lovingly survived by his wife, Joan; daughter, Shannon, of Lakeview, Ohio; son, Brennen (Dawn) Kolton of Munroe Falls, Ohio; stepchildren, Pamela (Bill) Lawrence of Bethalto, Ill., Timothy (Brigette) Nichols of Duluth, Minn., Vincent (Jennifer) Nichols of Hubertus grandson, Jack Kolton; seven step-grandchildren Adam Rucinski, Lee Michael and Anastasia Nichols, Willie, Tamra and Annika Lawrence and Mark Nichols; two sisters, Nancy (Jim) Merkel and Susan Kolton; one brother, Greg (Heidi) Kolton; mother-in-law Hazel Dietterich and sisters-in-law Catherine (James) McCaffrey and Lucy Dietterich. Aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive. Dennis was preceded in death by his daughter, Heather Kolton; his parents; sister, Mary Chris and brother-in-law, Clarence Dietterich.

Dennis was an avid jazz teacher and collector, appearing on radio and tapes around the world. He belonged to the World Jazz Network (WJN). He was a supporter of the Waukesha Memorial Hospital Stroke Club and Adaptive Community Approach Program (ACAP).

Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 2641 Pebble Valley Road, Waukesha, followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m. The Rev. Larry Harpster will officiate.

Memorials to the Interfaith Caregiving Network of Waukesha County or ACAP of Waukesha are suggested.
