WAUKESHA - Robert Jacob Poff, 75, of Waukesha died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 7, 1924, in Reedsburg to the late Jacob and Cora (nee Baldwin) Poff. He worked for 27 years at Quality Aluminum, retiring in 1986. He had been past president of the United Auto Workers local at the plant. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Robert was also a member of Vernon United Presbyterian Church in the town of Vernon, where he had served as a deacon of the church. He was preceded in death by his wife Joan (nee Macklin); a son, John Robert Poff; a granddaughter, Stephanie Haas; his brothers and sisters, Leo, Jesse, Harold and George Poff, Helen and Nell Miller, Ethel Rose, Dee Nelson, Donald Conley and Alma Poff.

Robert is survived by his wife, Elaine (nee Lewan) of Waukesha; his children, Robert (Carole) Poff Jr. of Waukesha, Shiela (Doug) Emmers of El Cajun, Calif., Diane (Noman) Wilson of Paducah, Ky., Teddy (Michelle) Poff of Friesland, Thomas (Pam) Poff of Waukesha, Michelle (Randy) Berg of Palmyra, Renee Blankenheim of Ontario, Wis., Scott Blankenheim of Mukwonago and Jody Jambois of Wisconsin Rapids; 24 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Levi Poff of Fort Myers, Fla.; and a sister, Evelyn Steffen of Waukesha. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Grace Poff and Myrtle Poff of Waukesha, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Robert will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at Vernon United Presbyterian Church, near highways 164 and ES. The Revs. Dr. Roger D. Patton and G. Bohvi Musengwa will officiate. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha. Friends may call at the Cesarz, Charapata and Zinnecker Funeral Home-West in Waukesha from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, and also at the Vernon United Presbyterian Church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday. Memorials in Robert’s name may be directed to the Vernon United Presbyterian Church.
