SUSSEX - Esther M. (nee Meissner) Schafer went home to the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 2, 1999, at the age of 94. She was the beloved wife of the late Willard; loving mother of Barbara (Merl) Vollmer and the late Rev. Mark Schafer; dear mother-in-law of Gale Schafer; grandma of five and great-grandma of eight. She was preceded in death by brothers Albert and Rueben Meissner, and sisters Ruby Dibble and Vieva Culver. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 6, at Schmidt & Bartelt A. A. Schmidt & Sons Funeral Home, highways 164 and VV in Sussex, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Burial is to follow at Lisbon Central Cemetery.
