Charles F. Kehl Jan. 2, 1937 - Dec. 28, 2004 Charles F. Kehl of Watertown was born to eternal life Tuesday morning, Dec. 28, 2004, at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc at age 67. He was born Jan. 2, 1937, in Columbus, to Louis and Frieda (nee Stark) Kehl. Charles was a 1954 graduate of Columbus High School. He was a food service provider for the Waukesha County area, retiring from Mueller Food Service in 1992. He also owned and operated the Watertown Inn, now the Elias Inn in Watertown. Charles was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Columbus. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards, golfing and traveling. He is survived by his brother, David (Mildred) Kehl of Waterloo; a brother-in-law, Ronald (Delores) Karow of Columbus; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Kehl of Beaver Dam; a special friend, Marysue "Susie" Mariani of Watertown; "rent-a-kids," Georgia Pirkel, Tim Phillips, Mickey Mariani and Machele Rowland; nieces and nephews, Barbara (Leonard) Hoeppner, Donna (Donald) Cigelski, Betty Kehl, Janet (Matt) Budde, Judy (Joe) Roth, John (Marianne) Kehl, Susan (Rick) Seavert, Lori (Gene) Cate and Paul (Kristine) Kehl; 20 great-nieces and great-nephews and two great-great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Beatrice Karow; a brother, Alvin Kehl; and a nephew, Robert Karow. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 30, at the Hafemeister Funeral Home, 611 E. Main St., Watertown. A second visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service Friday, Dec. 31, at Zion Lutheran Church in Columbus. The Rev. Steven Pagels will officiate. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Columbus. Memorials are suggested to AngelsGrace Hospice, the American Cancer Society or to the charity of one’s choice.
