PUEBLO, COLO.
Jean A. Raebel Sep. 26, 1925 - Dec. 25, 2004 Jean A. Raebel (nee Winohradsky) of Pueblo, Colo., formerly of Waukesha, passed peacefully Christmas morning, Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, surrounded by family at age 79 after a courageous six-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was the loving and devoted wife of 55 years to Aloysius A. Raebel; beloved mother of William of Oconomowoc, Robert (Beth) of Glenview, Ill., Donna (Michael) Carlson of Waukesha, Richard (Sandra) of Pueblo and Elizabeth (Robert) Fox of Naperville, Ill.; proud grandmother of Amanda (Michael) Michell, Beth Raebel, Matthew Raebel, Joshua Raebel, Melissa (Michael) Johnston, Marlene (Chris Mounce) Carlson, Jason (Michelle) Raebel, Alicia Raebel, Michael Raebel, Jessica Fox and James Fox; and proudest great-grandmother of Logan Michell and Owen Johnston. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ignace Winohradsky and Viola Gosenheimer Winohradsky Zahn. Jean was a strong, loving and devoted wife, mother and friend. She always kept up to date on the lives of her family, even though members lived throughout the United States. She retired as trust supervisor of the First National Bank of Pueblo (now known as US Bank-Pueblo). She always wondered "how she ever had time to work" since she kept so busy with her home and gardens after retirement. Jean loved life in Pueblo, at the foot of the Rockies, but always left part of her heart on Glenn Drive in Waukesha with her many great friends and neighbors. Oh what wonderful block parties! In keeping with Jean’s wishes, there will be no funeral services and the body will be cremated. David Mortuary, (719) 542-1984, 128 Broadway, Pueblo, CO 81004, is handling the arrangements. Jean wishes all who loved her to celebrate her life and good times shared, and not mourn her loss. In lieu of flowers or food, memorials to local animal welfare societies were requested by Jean during her last days. "We all need special angels to gently sow the seeds that keep us growing stronger throughout our times of need." Mom, you are our role model and special Christmas angel. We love you!
