Kyle A. Hammel Jan. 27, 1960 - Dec. 25, 2004 Kyle A. Hammel of Mukwonago died unexpectedly Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at his residence. He was 44 years old. Kyle was born Jan. 27, 1960, in Milwaukee, the son of Dale and Virginia (nee Nowatske) Hammel. He was a 1978 graduate of Mukwonago High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Airborne. Kyle was a member of the American Legion Post No. 375, where he served as the ceremonial commander of the color guard and marching unit. He also served as the chairman of the American Legion 2004 Missing in Action/Prisoner of War Silent March. Kyle was a painter for Trease Painting in Mukwonago and was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer and Packer fan. Survivors include his sister, Cindy Hammel of Mukwonago; his aunt and uncle, Marceine and Ed Orgas of Mukwonago; his dear friends, George Leka, Mike Trease and Duane Orgas; and numerous other relatives and friends. His parents preceded him in death. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Schmidt & Bartelt-Van Valin Funeral Home, 315 Main St. (Highway ES) Mukwonago. The Rev. Dr. Steven C. Kuhl will officiate. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated. Schmidt & Bartelt-Van Valin Funeral Home of Mukwonago, 363-7126, is serving the family.
