Helen L. Reuper (nee Hafel)

April 27, 1906 - Dec. 20, 2004

Helen L. Reuper, 98, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, at Virginia Health Care Center. She was born April 27, 1906, in Lockstedterlager, Germany. Helen immigrated to the United States with her family in 1923.

She lived in Clearwater, Fla., and also in Glenview, Ill., where she worked at Loyola University. On Oct. 6, 1932, she married Carl Reuper; he preceded her in death Dec. 10, 1991.

Helen will be remembered as a person who loved to garden, arrange flowers and bake for others. Her sweet smile and gentle way will be remembered by all who knew her.

She will be sadly missed by her niece, Carol Ann Runtz; her nephew, Hugo Mikes; great-nieces and nephew, Carrie, Kevin and Lindsay; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, Carl, she was preceded in death by her sister, Bertha Mikes, and her brothers, Adolf Hafel and Karl Hafel.

A memorial service will take place in January.
