Lance Cpl. Richard Daniel Warner, 22, of the town of Genesee, born Sept. 1, 1982, died Dec. 13, 2004, while serving with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 24th Marines in Iraq.

He was a 2001 graduate of Kettle Moraine High School, a graduate of Marine Corps Recruit Depot in November 2001, proud member of Fox Co. 2nd Battalion, 24th Marines. Richard had begun a career in the automotive industry as a sales professional at Wilde Honda until his deployment to Iraq. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Genesee Depot.

He was the beloved son of Mary (nee Kaelin) and Patrick Donahue of Genesee and Robert Warner of Muskego; wonderful and fun-loving brother to Kimberly Warner of Genesee; cherished grandson of Isabelle (the late Adelrich) Kaelin of Glendale and Elda (the late William) Warner of Sterling, Ill. He is also survived by many caring aunts, uncles, adoring cousins, a group of outstanding friends, and his fellow Marines.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, at St. Anthony on the Lake, W280-N2101 Prospect Ave. (Highway SS), Pewaukee (one-half mile north of Interstate 94 on Highway SS in Pewaukee). Services will continue with a second visitation from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004, from 9 a.m. until the funeral Mass at the church. (This is a change of church location from St. Paul’s in Genesee Depot.) The Rev. Robert Gozma will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Citizens Bank of Mukwonago, 301 N. Rochester St., Mukwonago, WI 53149, in Richard D. Warner’s name. It will be used for future scholarships and assistance for families of Marines.
