Edna Leona Furrer

Edna Leona Furrer of Waukesha died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at Allis Care Center at age 87.

Edna was born Jan. 21, 1917, in Scanlan, Minn., the daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth Mae (nee Perry) Tadych. Edna was a charter member of St. William Catholic Church where she coordinated the religious education program. She was an executive secretary at Community of Living Spirit, Oliver Corp., Culligan Soft Water and Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Sr., and her grandson, Joel Furrer.

Edna will be sadly missed by her children, Robert (Jean) Furrer of Tucson, Ariz., Sister Emy Beth Furrer, Order of St. Francis of Manitowoc, Christina Brown of Waukesha, Kathleen Furrer of Milwaukee, Stephen (Mary) Furrer of Waukegan, Ill. and Edwin Jr. "Ted" Furrer of Tucson, Ariz.; her grandchildren, James (Lauren) Rutkofske, Amy (Todd) Wilhelmson, Chrissy (Al) Dyess, Melinda, Joseph, Jeremy and Kimberly Furrer; and her great-grandchildren, Alexandra and William Dyess and Kirsten Wilhelmson. Edna is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service for Edna will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd. Waukesha. The Rev. Leonard Barbian will officiate. A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. vigil service Tuesday, Dec. 21, at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd. and also Wednesday at St. William Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. service. Burial will take place following the service Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
