Lawrence C. Sankey

Lawrence C. Sankey of Waukesha died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at LindenGrove Health Care Center in Waukesha at age 84. He was born Jan. 25, 1920, a son of John and Nancy (nee Jablonski) Sankey in Stevens Point.

Lawrence proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from Nov. 20, 1942, until Dec. 29, 1945. He married Alice Braatz on May 1, 1947.

Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Fred; and three sisters, Marie Sheets, Techla Schultz and Leone Tasker.

Lawrence is survived by his six children, Roger (Judith) Sankey of Waukesha, Harold Sankey of Florida, Gary (Christine) Sankey of Eagle, Mary Hake of Illinois, Timothy (Debbie) Sankey of Watertown and Cindy (Tom) Radovich of Mukwonago. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; Alice Waypa of Red Granite; daughter-in-law Diane Sankey of Waukesha; along with other relatives and friends.

The funeral service celebrating Lawrence's life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd.,Waukesha. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin immediately following the service.
