Antoinette Cartwright, 82, of the town of Waukesha, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, at her home. She was born Sept. 25, 1922, in New Berlin, to William and Agnes (nee Brandt) Metz.

On Sept. 27, 1941, she married Gordon Cartwright. Antoinette prayed every day and had been a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church for the past 15 years and was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers and the Holy Rollers Doughnut Making Club. She made wedding cakes for more than 40 years, with her first cake being for her daughter Betty’s wedding. She was famous for her butter horns. Antoinette enjoyed sewing, crocheting, painting, basket weaving, gambling and participated in card club for many years.

She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Betty Kolba of Waukesha and Annette (Michael) Cochrane of Omaha, Neb. She was the dear grandmother of Patrick Kolba Jr. of Waukesha and Kyle (Tammy) Kolba of Mukwonago and loving sister of Ben Metz of North Lake and Marvin (Beth) Metz of Waukesha. She is further survived by other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; her son, Gordon Jr.; son-in-law, Patrick Kolba; brothers, Clem, Jake and Matt; and sisters, Tracy Sheehan and Tillie Sheehan.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Services continue with prayers at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at the funeral home, followed by the procession to St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2400 W. Highway 59, Waukesha, for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass.

Graveside services will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
