Milton A. Houk

Milton A. Houk of Ixonia, formerly of Dousman, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital at age 82. He was born April 15, 1922, in the town of Ottawa, to Albert J. and Hazel M. (nee Waters) Houk. On Sept. 13, 1941, he married Beatrice Byrne in Janesville.

Milton served his country in the armed forces while stationed in the Philippines during World War II.

Milton was employed by Vogt and Burtonwood Developers for many years and was retired from Wolf Construction. He was a past member of the Dousman Volunteer Fire Department, a past member of St. Brunos Catholic Church in Dousman, a former member of Dousman American Legion Post No. 405 and a member of St. Marys Help of Christians Church in Sullivan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Beatrice; his children, Thomas (Oleta) Houk of Dayton, Tenn., Gary (Frances) Houk of Vine Grove, Ky., Milton Skip (Cindy) Houk of Dousman, Elaine (Robert) Ellifson of Dousman, Jerome (Charles) Houk of Meridian, Idaho, and Patrick (Colleen) Houk of Pewaukee; 22 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Thursday, Dec. 9, at St. Marys Help of Christians Catholic Church, W856 Highway 18, Sullivan. Monsignor John Hebl will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Brunos Catholic Cemetery in Dousman.
