Wendy J. Holbach

Wendy J. Holbach, 46, of Waukesha, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Wendy was born March 8, 1957, in Bayshore, N.Y., a daughter of Edward and Bette (nee Pierce) Klose.

Wendy graduated from Ridgefield High School in Ridgefield, Conn., in 1976. She then enlisted in the U.S. Navy. While serving in the Navy, she met and married Gary Holbach on April 21, 1979, in Antigua, West Indies. Wendy and Gary then settled in Waukesha.

Wendy was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waukesha. She enjoyed bowling and decorating. Wendy loved life. She was right in the middle of every function that she attended. Her hardy laugh made others laugh with her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edward, and her father-in-law, LaVern Holbach.

Wendy is survived by her husband, Gary, of Waukesha; her two sons, Brian Holbach, who is stationed with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Blueridge in Japan, and Andrew Holbach of Waukesha; her mother, Bette Klose of Largo, Fla.; and two sisters, Cheryl Weiland of Clearwater, Fla., and Alison Klose of St. Petersburg, Fla. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Margaret Holbach of Medford; her sister-in-laws, Barbara (Patrick) Brilowski of Stevens Point, Beverly (Tom) Godleske of Merrill and Suzanne Holbach of Anderson, Calif.; her brother-in-laws, Terry (Betty) Holbach of Medford and Todd (Robin) Holbach of Edgar; along with other relatives and friends.

The funeral celebrating Wendy's life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 424 Hyde Park Ave., Waukesha. The Rev. James Wilch will be the officiant. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the church. Burial will be in Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed in Wendy's name to the family to be used for breast cancer research.
