Gary Allan Mitchell

Gary Allan Mitchell, 51, of Milwaukee, formerly of Bloomington, Ill., died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at his residence.

Gary was born May 15, 1952, in Bloomington, to Loren and Carolyn (nee Carr) Mitchell.

On May 10, 2002, he married the former Jean Meyer in Milwaukee.

He graduated from Bloomington High School in 1970, Progress Technical College at West Carlton, Ohio, and Milwaukee Area Technical College. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving from 1971 to 1975. He owned and operated Air Mitchell Heating and Cooling in Milwaukee.

Survivors include his wife, Jean; his sons, James (Susanna) Mitchell of Eugene, Ore., and Jason Mitchell of San Diego; his mother, Carolyn Mitchell of Bloomington; a grandson, three step-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren; four brothers, Loren Douglas (Sylvia) Mitchell of Riverside, Calif., James Edward (Karen) Mitchell of Plover, Fred Robert Mitchell of Bloomington and Jeffrey Scott (Susan) Mitchell of El Paso, Ill.; and two sisters, Linda Jane (Thomas) Ricker and Gail Margaret Mitchell, both of Bloomington.

He was preceded in death by his father, Loren, and two brothers, Phillip and Thomas Mitchell.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington. The Rev. Mark A. Wallace will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by the Carl S. Martin Post 635 of Normal, Ill. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, Dec. 18, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Bloomington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
