Robert D. Markiewicz

Robert D. Markiewicz of Mukwonago found peace with God’s care Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at age 39. He was born Aug. 14, 1964, in Milwaukee, the son of Donald and Barbara (nee Jakobsons) Markiewicz. Robert attended Mukwonago High School. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish.

Survivors include his parents, Donald and Barbara of Mukwonago; his two sisters, Diana DeGroot (fiance Jeff Kizewski) of Mukwonago and Dawn (Mike) Vitagliano of Cortez, Colo.; his grandmother, Tony Jakobsons of Saukville; his nieces and nephews, Devin and Danielle DeGroot, Corinne Kizewski and Alex, Jaden and Kai Vitagliano; his aunts and uncles, Hans (Candy) Jakobsons of New Berlin, Carol Pitzka of Saukville, Kenneth (Jackie) Casper of Eagle, Diane Hannon of Edgemont, Ark., and Ronald Markey of Edgemont; and other relatives and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alex Jakobsons, Leonard and Amelia Markiewicz and Bernice Markiewicz, and three uncles, Thomas Markey, Raymond Pitzka and James Hannon.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, at Schmidt & Bartelt-Van Valin Funeral Home, 315 Main St. (Highway ES), Mukwonago. The Rev. Kathryn A. Rust will officiate. Friends may visit with family from 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family to be distributed to various organizations.
