Roy ‘Pete’ Peterson Feb. 15, 1925 - Dec. 13, 2003 Roy "Pete" Peterson, 78, died Dec. 13, 2003, at his town of Genesee home. He was born Feb. 15, 1925 to Roy John and Pauline (nee Tadeja) Peterson. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1943-1947 as a torpedo man, 3rd class. He was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Genesee Depot since 1968. Mr. Peterson was employed at International Harvester from 1947 until his retirement in 1980. On May 14, 1949, he married the former LaVerne Vidra. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 54 years, LaVerne Peterson of town of Genesee; He was the dear father to Susan (Michael) Watts of Green Bay; Amata (David) Cox of Palmyra; grandfather of Terra (Neal) Driscoll of Shorewood and Jordan Watts of Washington D.C.; brother to Byron (Jackie) Peterson of Woodstock, Ga.; brother-in-law of Toni Peterson of Oaklawn, Ill.; and dear friend of Helga Fuchs. he is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, David; and dear friend Rudy Fuchs. Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass today at St. Paul Catholic Church, highways 83 and D, Genesee Depot . Interment followed at St. Paul Cemetery.
