WAUKESHA - Jayson A. "Jay" Yatzeck, 73, of Waukesha, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at Meriter Hospital in Madison.

Jay was born March 2, 1929, in Waukesha, a son of the late Godfrey and Wilhelmina (nee Wagner) Yatzeck. He graduated from Waukesha High School.

On Oct. 22, 1955, he married the former Geraldine Petri.

He retired from Badger Pattern in Waukesha in 1993. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He was a simple, honest person and a devoted husband and father.

Surviving are his daughter, Jandra (Michael) Morrow of Sun Prairie; his grandchildren, Joseph J., Joandra and Andrew; two great-grandchildren, Taylre and Sage; a sister, Doris (Harold) Marose of Waukesha; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Geraldine M. Yatzeck on Oct. 17, 2001; a son, Andrew; two brothers, Walter and Elmer; and a sister, Francis Gabrysiak.

Funeral services celebrating Jayson's life will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. The Rev. Jim McCammon will be the officiant. Private burial will be held in Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of the 6 p.m. funeral service Thursday at the funeral home.
