Gertrude R. Shekleton

WAUKESHA - Gertrude R. Shekleton, 82, of Waukesha, entered eternal life Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends. Our darling mom gave her children the gifts of her great faith, concern for all who suffered and enthusiasm for living.

Gertrude was born Dec. 4, 1920, in Oshkosh. She married Frank Shekleton, who preceded her in death July 18, 1993.

She is survived by her four children, Mark (Nanci) Shekleton of the U.S. Virgin Islands, Tom Shekleton of Waukesha, Joan (David) Fritzler of Wales and Carol (Paul) Neuman of McFarland; seven grandchildren, Matt, Jake, Greg, Beth, Patrick (Lisa), Michael and David; and brothers, Lawrence (Tress) Putzer, Harold (Bernice) Putzer and Ralph (Gen) Putzer. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, Gertrude was preceded in death by her brothers, Al Putzer, Father Vincent Putzer and Carl Putzer; her sisters, Mary Ebersberger, Leone Smith and Sister Alvina Putzer; and her parents, Wenzel and Alvina Putzer.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Waukesha Memorial Hospital, especially the nurses in the I.C.U. for the tender care they gave our mom.

Memorials to School Sisters of Notre Dame would be appreciated.
