Margaret Marie Scharnell

BROOKFIELD - Margaret Marie Scharnell, 88, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, at Care-Age of Brookfield nursing home. She was born Feb. 27, 1914, in Chicago, to Mathias and Kathrine (nee Schummer) Bambach. On March 29, 1939, she married Anton Scharnell in Menominee, Mich.; he preceded her in death June 20, 1990.

Margaret was the last of 12 children. She had been a homemaker all her life and enjoyed painting, crocheting, knitting and crafts. She was raised in the Crivitz area, but had also lived in Menominee, West Allis, Florida and Waukesha.

She was the beloved mother of Carol (Keith) Merrifield of Waukesha, Eileen (Greg) Wisniewski of Whitefish Bay, James Scharnell of Lake Barrington Shores, Ill., and Richard (Cheryl) Scharnell of Milwaukee; dear grandmother of Jeanne (David) Graves, Charlene (Jim) Yauch, Jennifer Wisniewski and Anton Scharnell; and loving great-grandmother of Rebecca and Alexandra Graves. She is further survived by her brothers-in-law, Peter (Fran) Scharnell of Menominee and Lawrence (Margie) Scharnell of Boulder City, Nev., many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 200 Richard St., Waukesha, with the Rev. Thomas Launius officiating. Friends may call from 6 p.m. until the time of the services Friday at the church.
