Rose Katherine Drews

OCONOMOWOC - Rose Katherine Drews, 91, of Oconomowoc, passed away Dec. 24, 2002, at Heartland of Pewaukee Nursing Home. Rose was born April 5, 1911, in Oshkosh, the daughter of Joseph K. Knasinski and Rose (nee Thorpe). She married William J. Drews on Dec. 7, 1929, in Waukesha, and had formerly worked as a cook at Lutheran Homes of Oconomowoc for 12 years.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Okauchee.

Survivors include her children, Hildegarde Staus, Shirley Palen, Charlotte (Sherman) Pagenkopf, Joanne Hill (formerly Dunn), Marjorie Krueger, William Drews, Richard (Sharon) Drews, Joseph Drews, Sandra Drews, Edward (Sandra) Drews, Sally (Bob) Marks, Diane (John) Brown, Rosemary (James) Brown and Gail (Jeff) Denkins; 59 grandchildren; 84 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William, on April 24, 1981; children, Delores and Leroy; grandchildren, Gregory, Donald and Mark; and 12 brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the 4 p.m. funeral service Sunday, Dec. 29, at Schmidt & Bartelt Notbohm-Kreutzmann Funeral Home, 121 Cross St. in Oconomowoc. The Rev. Jonathan Madson officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Good Hope Cemetery in Greenfield.
