MENOMINEE, Mich. - Mark E. Mathias, 53, a resident of Menominee, Mich., passed away Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at his home. He was born Nov. 10, 1942, in Genesee Depot.

Mark married Peggy Bruder on Dec. 23, 1978, in Waukesha. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and the Menominee Sportsman’s Club. Mark enjoyed collecting stamps, coins, knives, guns and paperweights, and was also an avid reader. Mark was a custodian in the Waukesha school system.

Mark is survived by his wife, Peggy of Menominee; one sister, Kathleen of Milwaukee; and two brothers, Michael of Cincinnati and Lawrence (Rosann) of Milwaukee. He is further survived by six nephews and nieces and six great-nephews and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Audrey.

A memorial service for Mark will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church; the Rev. Ron Skufka will officiate. Friends may call at the church from noon until the time of the service. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Genesee Depot.

A memorial fund has been established.
