Raymond ‘Ray’ O. Wickland

WAUKESHA - Raymond "Ray" O. Wickland of Waukesha, born July 10, 1932, the son of John and Alice (nee Mumper) Wickland, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at age 70.

He was an active member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church where he served as treasurer, council member and superintendent of Sunday school. He had a passion for baseball and was a lifelong Cubs fan and Packers fan. Ray loved to spend time with his family.

Ray will be sadly missed by his wife, Mary, whom he married in 1980; his daughters, Melody (Frederick) Patrie of Kenosha and Grace (Randy) Spotts of Danville, Ill.; his grandchildren, Zachariah and Samuel; his brothers, Anton (Dorothy) Wickland of Palmyra and George (Dorothy) Wickland of New Berlin; his sisters, Gertrude (Clarence) Henry of Milwaukee and Genevieve (Harry) Bennett of Florida; his brothers-in-law, Kenneth Schneider of Appleton and Robert (Diane) Schneider of Littleton, Colo.; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Rosalyn; a brother, John; and a sister-in-law, Eleanor.

A visitation for Ray will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. A private family service will be held. Interment will be in Prairie Home Cemetery.
