WAUKESHA - Hazel M. Porter, 85, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at the LindenGrove Health Care Facility in Waukesha. She was born Aug. 17, 1917, in Waukesha, a daughter of Adam and Emma (nee Katzner) Schiller.

She graduated from Waukesha High School and Spenserian Business College in Milwaukee. On Sept. 17, 1942, she married Keith Porter in Waukesha. She worked for Sears in Waukegan, Ill., and Milwaukee before she retired. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waukesha. Hazel was active in the Ruth Circle and also represented the church at Lutheran Child and Family Services.

She is survived by her loving husband, Keith Porter of Waukesha; a sister, Sally Schiller of Greenfield; a brother, Adam (Vera) Schiller Jr. of Waukesha; two nephews, David Schiller of Elkhorn and Frederick Schiller of Waukesha; along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Frederick.

The funeral for Hazel will be held at 1:30 p.m. today, Dec. 19, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1052 Whiterock Ave., Waukesha; the Rev. Larry Gates will be the officiant. Friends may call at the church Thursday from noon until the time of the service at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha.
