WAUKESHA - Joseph "Joedy" Wood of Waukesha died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at the Virginia Health and Rehabilitation Center at age 59. He was born Jan. 19, 1943, in Bishop, Va., to Joseph and Mary Louise (nee Minton) Wood. On April 4, 1964, he married Helen Whitaker.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 38 years, Helen, along with their son, Joel (Meredith) Wood of Kenosha. He is the dear grandfather of Erin Hawkins Wood and Courtney Anne Wood, and loving brother of Patricia Gruber of Ohio, Lola (John) Pritchett, Barbara Wood, Michael Wood and Jane Dever, all of Florida, and Charles (Sandri) Wood of Indiana. He is further survived by his nieces, Pamela Versailles and Penny (Michael) Tahtinen; his nephew, Todd Versailles; his sister-in-law, Linda (Earl) Versailles; his brothers-in-law, Keith (Carolyn) Whitaker and Kevin (Patricia) Whitaker, both of Arizona, Mark (Marilyn) Whitaker of Waukesha and Dale Marie; and other relatives and many friends.

Interment will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, at Prairie Home Cemetery; meet at the cemetery office.
