Marnel J. ‘Bud’ Martin

MUKWONAGO - Marnel J. "Bud" Martin, 77, of Mukwonago, found peace Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, at his residence. Bud was born April 9, 1925, in Waukesha, the son of Harold "Duke" and Evelyn (nee Garity) Martin.

After 39 years as a truck driver, Bud retired from Quality Carriers in Bristol. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 375 and the Sno-Snoops Snowmobile Club, both in Mukwonago.

Survivors include his wife, Lola (nee Gehrand); his children, Bruce (Debi) Martin of Mukwonago, Carla (Dennis) Maize of Delavan, Jim (Linda) Martin of Mukwonago, Jill Martin (Jeff Darling) of Milwaukee, Kim Martin (Dan Theine) of Dousman, Mark Martin (Tricia Larson) of Mukwonago and Scott Martin of Mukwonago; two sisters, Kaye Schafer of Mukwonago and Mary (Guenter) Pfister of Hyattsville, Md.; a brother, John (Judy) Martin of Centennial, Colo.; his stepmother, Faith Martin of Mukwonago; a sister-in-law, Eva (Bud) Whittmore of Pueblo, Colo.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Jan Fields and Karol Sullivan; and two brothers, Jerry and Bill Martin.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the Schmidt & Bartelt-Van Valin Funeral Home, 315 Main St., Mukwonago. The Rev. Glenn Zimbelman will officiate. Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at Norway Cemetery in Wind Lake; please meet at the cemetery.

Memorials to the Roland Nelson/Crossroads Hospice or to Norway Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wind Lake would be appreciated.
