Henry H. Schwab

WAUKESHA - Henry H. Schwab, 88, of Waukesha, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 20, 1913, in Milwaukee, to Henry and Katherine (nee Pfeifer) Schwab. He then moved to Hungary and returned to the United States when he was 16 years old. He married Sylvia E. (nee Klancar), and she preceded him in death in 1971. He then married Agnes (nee Bandkowski); she preceded him in death in 1997.

Henry had farmed in New Berlin early in his life. From 1947 until 1960 he owned and operated Schwab Nursery at 124th and Center streets in Wauwatosa, and then moved to Waukesha and bought Waukesha Floral and Greenhouse, which he operated until his retirement in 1975. He and his wife then moved to Venice, Fla., where he lived until 2000.

He will be sadly missed by his children, Henry J. (Arlene) Schwab of Germantown and Judy (Norm) Stephan of Waukesha. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Joyce R. Weber Lange; his grandson, Kevin Schwab; and his sister, Margaret Kovac.

Friends and family may call between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Visitation continues from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday, Dec. 20, at the funeral home; the Rev. Al Nichols will officiate. Graveside services will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
