WAUKESHA - Gary Earl Austin, 67, of Waukesha, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 10, 1935, in Stoughton, to Earl Louis and Grace (nee Rowlands) Austin.

He was a 1953 graduate of Waukesha High School. Following high school he joined the National Guard from 1953 to 1955. On April 28, 1962, he married the former Patricia Ann Roso. He had worked for the city of Waukesha from 1976 until his retirement in 1997. One of Gary’s favorite pastimes was playing cards.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 40 years, Patricia, along with their children, Dawn Marie Austin of Milwaukee, Cheryl Ann (Joseph Paul) Catalano of Greendale and Thomas Gary (fiancee Nicole Voelkel) Austin of Waukesha. He was the dear grandfather of Marisa Ann, Gina Marie and Joseph Christian Catalano, all of Greendale. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Esther Roso of Waukesha; his aunt, Frances Daubner of Waukesha; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Louis Austin, on March 5, 1989, and his mother, Grace Austin ,on Oct. 21, 1993.

Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave. Private family services will be held. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Pewaukee.
