Edna A. Manske

WAUKESHA - Edna A. Manske, 97, went to her eternal rest Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at the LindenGrove Health Care facility in Waukesha. Edna was born in Menomonee, a daughter of the late Gust and Martha (nee Krueger) Schultz. She was raised in Wheeler and moved to Waukesha in 1927. On May 5, 1928, she married James McDonald Sr.; he died March 25, 1963.

Edna worked for Wisconsin Bell for 10 years, General Castings for six years and Northview Home for 10 years before retiring in 1970. In 1980 she married William Manske; he preceded her in death in 1985. She was a member of the Waukesha Golden Agers and had belonged to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waukesha.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James McDonald Sr.; a son, James McDonald Jr. in 1981; her husband, William P. Manske; three brothers, Albert, Walter and Rhinhardt Schultz; two grandchildren, Kathleen Klotz and Terrance Higgens; and three sons-in-law, Albert Cepauskas, Wallace Klotz and James Higgens.

Edna is survived by her six children, Patricia Cepauskas of Waukesha, Sarah Klotz of Waukesha, Joseph (Phyllis) McDonald of Waukesha, Francis (Madge) McDonald of Waukesha, Mary Lou Higgens of Belvidere, Ill., and Michael (Shirley) McDonald of Kansasville; 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Krueger of Colfax; a daughter-in-law, Sylvia McDonald of Waukesha; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to the caring staff at LindenGrove in Waukesha, the Odyssey Hospice and Dr. Gardner and Dr. Sanders.

The Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha; the Rev. Brian Mason will be the celebrant. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha; a parish vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Waukesha.
