Michael H. Johnson
OCONOMOWOC - Michael H. Johnson, 49, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at his home in Oconomowoc. He was born Oct. 6, 1953, in Waukesha, to Donald and Elsie (nee Berg) Johnson. On Aug. 2, 1975, he married Barbara Bruce. Michael served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a supervisor at Silgan Containers in Oconomowoc and was a pilot and member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. Michael was a member of Dr. Martin Luther Church, the Oconomowoc Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Vietnam Veterans of America. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; two daughters, Rebecca (Dan) Chapman of Shakopee, Minn., and Kristin Johnson of Oshkosh; his parents, Donald and Elsie Johnson of Oconomowoc; three brothers, John (Joannie) Johnson of Watertown, Sam (Maggie) Johnson of Winona, Minn., and Ted (Darlene) Johnson of Oconomowoc; a sister, Jolene (Thomas) Andres of Colville, Wash.; his mother-in-law, Esther Bruce of Oconomowoc; his brother-in-law, Jim (Bonnie) Bruce of Oconomowoc; his sister-in-law, Jane Bruce of Oconomowoc; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Henry Bruce, and a niece, Erin Bruce. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Pagenkopf Funeral Home, 1165 E. Summit Ave., Oconomowoc. A second visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Dr. Martin Luther Church, 325 S. Main St., Oconomowoc; the Rev. Kenneth Soderlund officiating. Burial will be held at LaBelle Cemetery in Oconomowoc. Memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Vietnam Veterans of America are appreciated. Pagenkopf Funeral Home, 567-4457, is serving the family.
