NORTH VERNON, Ind. - Ronald Wesley Meyers, 69, of North Vernon, Ind., died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001, at Columbus Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born July 19, 1932, in Milwaukee, the son of Arnold and Hildagarde Stieger Meyers. He attended the Holy Angels and Boys Tech schools in Milwaukee.

He married the former Bernice Jane Lazzell on Aug. 29, 1960, in Waukegon, Ill.

Mr. Myers was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from the Waukesha Freeman in 1989, where he had worked in the paste-up department and moved to Jennings County in 1991. He enjoyed fishing and clipping coupons in the Sunday paper.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Bernice; his daughters, Dorothy Fields of Butlerville, Ind., and Sue Beth Johnson of Mullins, S.C.; six grandchildren; and one sister, Geraldine Haunfelder of Clarks Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Maurine Vilkowski; and his brother, Arnold Meyers Jr.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Pickett Funeral Home in North Vernon. The service will follow at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Gary Held will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
