Phyllis Jane Vangsness

LITTLETON, Colo. - Phyllis Jane Vangsness died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at the Littleton (Colo.) Hospital, after a long illness.

She was born in Madison, the second daughter of Oscar and Cecilia Vangsness, who preceded her in death.

She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a bachelor of arts degree and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She was both a school and a clinical social worker in Wisconsin.

She is survived by two sisters, Marion Forrer of Stoughton and Marceil Pultorak, who is currently living in Centennial, Colo. She is further survived by nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald, who died in the 1970s.

There will be a memorial Mass at All Souls Church in Englewood, Colo. Plans are being made for a memorial Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waukesha in the spring. Her body is being cremated.
