Florence E. Duncan

EAST TROY - Florence E. Duncan of East Troy passed away Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at age 82. Florence was born May 12, 1919, to Alfred and Clara (nee Walworth) Jay.

After her husband, Hollister "Hollie" Duncan passed away in 1990, Florence worked at the McDonald’s restaurant in Mukwonago for seven years. Florence was a member of the Caldwell United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her children, Elaine Wills of Racine, Eleanor (Leroy) Last of Campbellsport, Tom (Margie) of Whitewater, William (Joan) of East Troy and Bob (Melody) of Sheboygan; two sisters, Mary Marshall of Tomah and Caroline Kersting of Black River Falls; 21 grandchildren; many who knew her as "grandma"; 24 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Lyle; two brothers; and one sister.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at the Schmidt & Bartelt-Van Valin Funeral Home, 315 Main St., Mukwonago; the Rev. John Huenink officiating. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services on Sunday at Oak Ridge Cemetery in East Troy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Ronald McDonald House in Wauwatosa, East Troy Fire & Rescue or Big Bend/Vernon Fire & Rescue are appreciated.
