WAUKESHA - Josefa Melero, 68, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, at her Waukesha residence. She was born April 26, 1933, in Durango, Mexico, to Lauro and Bernarda (nee Cardosa) Melero. She will be sadly missed by her children, Socorro (Javier) Albiter of Waukesha, Nicolas (Kathy Reynolds) Chavez of Phoenix, Luciano (Bertha) Chavez and Roque (Linda) Chavez, both of Waukesha; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She is the beloved daughter of Lauro Melero; sister of Santiago (Bernarda) Melero and Simon (Barbara) Melero, both of Phoenix, Jose (Anna) Melero of Waukesha and Maria DeJesus Melero of Mexico. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Geronimo Chavez, in 1961; mother, Bernarda; and sister, Concepcion Melero. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at the Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. A prayer vigil will take place at 7 p.m. Prayers will begin at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, followed by a procession to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha, for a 9:30 a.m. funeral Mass. Graveside services will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Randle-Dable Funeral Home is assisting the family. For more information, call 547-4035.
