Mary G. Schmittner, 45, of Waukesha, died unexpectedly Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at her home.

She was born to Eugene and Elaine (nee Pescinski) Jeske on Jan. 20, 1956, in Milwaukee. Mary graduated from Waukesha South High School in 1974. She married Steve Schmittner on Sept. 23, 1978.

Mary was a very active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waukesha for over 24 years. She gave of her time by volunteering to teach religious classes, helping with Meals on Wheels, and serving on the Literacy Council of Greater Waukesha. Mary was also a member of Women’s Aglow prayer group as well as a member of a women’s Bible study group.

She will be missed by her husband, Steve; her children, John C. and Andrew Schmittner, and her father, Eugene (stepmother Yvonne) Jeske. She is further survived by her brothers: Michael (Lee) Jeske, Gregory (Maresa) Jeske, Jeff Jeske, Brian (Kathy) Jeske and Mark Jeske, all of Waukesha. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Elaine, and a brother, Steven.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a 7 p.m. Funeral Mass. Burial will take place on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery. Please meet at the cemetery chapel. Randle-Dable Funeral Home is serving the family.
