George A. Austin

WAUKESHA - George A. Austin, born in Waukesha on Oct. 24, 1933, the son of Arol and Valley (nee Schaeffel) Austin, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at Ruth Hospice at age 68.

George served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a postal carrier in Waukesha for 28 years and was a member of the National Association of Federal Employees and the National Association of Letter Carriers. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dale; and his sister-in-law, Elizabeth.

George will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, Valley Marie Owens of Phoenix, Mary (Arthur) Freeman of Washington, Rosemarie (Jeffrey) Curtis of Cascade, Dale Austin of Milwaukee and David Austin; 10 grandnieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

A funeral service for George will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha; the Rev. Fletcher Simpson will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service Sunday. Burial will be held at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Mukwonago.

Memorials in George’s name to The Salvation Army or The Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated.
