Mary Jane Schipp

WAUKESHA - Mary Jane Schipp, 81, of Waukesha, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 13, 1920, in Waukesha, to Jacob and Edith (nee Sinkovits) Tompitch.

On Feb. 15, 1947, she married Victor Schipp, who lovingly survives her. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, where she was active in the choir and Christian Mothers, and volunteered her time and talent in the rectory and food pantry at the church. She was a member of the Sierra Club and Third Order of St. Francis. For many years she worked at Northview Hospital and Home and then at Woodland HealthCare Center. Mrs. Schipp will be remembered as a great cook and she loved playing cards, especially sheepshead.

She will be sadly missed by her husband and best friend of 54 years, Victor, along with her children, Jeanne (Eddie) Llanas of Waukesha and Gregory (Nina) Schipp of Milwaukee. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Brian; sisters, Sister Theophane, Sister Venard, Elizabeth Schipp, Frances Deck and Dorothy Pettey; and brother, Paul Tompitch.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A prayer service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, followed by a procession to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha, for the 11 a.m. funeral Mass with the Rev. Michael Michalski officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
