WAUKESHA - Dolores Solheim McCreary, 82, of Waukesha, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at the LindenGrove Health Care Facility in Waukesha. She was born May 14, 1919, in Minneapolis, a daughter of John Otenious Solheim and Ida Ione (nee Porter) Solheim. Dolores graduated as salutatorian from Stoughton High School in 1939. She then attended the Wisconsin State Teachers College and married Sam McCreary. She had worked for Blue Cross in Chicago for 25 years. She also lived in Phoenix and Pompano Beach, Fla., before moving to Waukesha in 1987. Dolores is survived by her brother, Russell (Aileen) Solheim of Waverly, Iowa; her four nieces, Karen (Jack) Jens, Virginia (Tom) Halliwell, Dyana Solheim and Helene Solheim. She is also survived by her 12 nephews, Richard (Lynn) Solheim, Charles Solheim, Dennis (Melba) Solheim, David (Jean) Solheim, Kenneth Solheim, Keith (Mela) Solheim, Phillip Solheim, Steve Solheim, Geoffrey Solheim, Neal (Patricia) Solheim and Eric Solheim, along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Alice Marks; two brothers, Vernon and Carl; sister-in-law, Joan Solheim; and her very dear friend, Ed. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the noon memorial service Saturday, Jan. 5, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. The service will be officiated by the Rev. James Bickel of Ascension Lutheran Church in Waukesha. Interment will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield. Memorials are appreciated to the charity of the donor’s choice. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dolores’ dear friend, Betty, for all her help.
