Willis ‘Bill’ H. Behselich

PALMYRA - Willis "Bill" H. Behselich, 77, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at Fort Atkinson Memorial Health Services. He was born in Pittsville on Jan. 21, 1924, the son of Tony and Thelma (nee Brown) Behlselich. On June 9, 1951, he married Betty Willson at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Palmyra.

Bill farmed until age 26 with his father, then he worked at the Sullivan and Palmyra mill. He was employed at Pett Construction for 34 years. After retiring, he worked at Creative Packaging, Whitewater Lime and Stone and Lakeland Coach Lines.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; his children, Bruce (Miriam) of Waukesha, Dawn (Steve) Jones of Sullivan and Brian (Deb) of Waterford; his grandchildren, Carolyn Behselich, Chris (Emily) Jones, Lindsey (Keith) Keske, Cory (Lynn) Jones, Nicole Behselich and Amber (Ben) Lurvey; his stepgrandchildren, Kristi, Brad and Scott Roepke; his great-grandchildren, Summer and Morgan Keske and Hunter Lurvey; his sisters, Phyllis (Leo) Irwin of Fort Atkinson, Georgene (Harold) Adams of Fort Atkinson and Virginia (Richard) Marshall of Jefferson; his brother, Lawrence (Donna) Behselich of Little Prairie; a brother-in-law, Neil Willson of Palmyra; his uncle, Vern Behselich of Palmyra; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Milton; and his sister-in-law, Marge Willson.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 919 W. Main St., Palmyra, with Monsignor John Hebl officiating. Friends may visit after 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Mealy’s Funeral Home, 103 Eagle St., Eagle; a second visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at St. Mary’s Church . Burial will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Palmyra.
