WAUKESHA - Carl Conrad Thomas, a lifelong resident of Waukesha, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2001, at home at age 73. Carl dedicated his life to the Ethan Allen School for Boys and the Waukesha Civic Theatre. In 1955, Carl worked for the Wisconsin School for Boys, then continued to work after they moved to Wales and renamed themselves the Ethan Allen School for Boys. He retired after 38 years of service. Carl was also an actor and a board member of the Waukesha Civic Theatre. Carl will be sadly missed by his sisters, Bertha Gretenhardt of Waukesha, Anna (Robert) Beske of Waukesha and Gertrude Vogt of Montana; and his brother, Daniel (Merillyn) Thomas of Hartland. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. The funeral service for Carl will be held at noon Friday, Dec. 14, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha; the Rev. Daniel Schowalter officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday. Interment will be held at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Waukesha Civic Theatre or the Ethan Allen School for Boys are appreciated.
