‘Geno’ Neshek
He graduated from Coleman High school in 1944 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a technical sergeant from Jan. 27, 1945, until May 21, 1946. He received the American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. On Aug. 5, 1950, he married Dolores Jerzy in Pound. He had worked for American Motors in Milwaukee and then went to work for the Milwaukee Sentinel. He retired as the sales and circulation manager at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in 1989 after 29 years of service. He had worked in the newspaper business for 34 years. After retirement, he enjoyed winters in Florida and summers in Phillips at the summer cottage. He is a member of First Baptist Church in Waukesha and the Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Dolores Neshek of Waukesha; his six children, Karen (Michael) Franklin of West Allis, Sharen (John) Fry of Waukesha, Eugene (Paula) Neshek of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Sandra Meade of Waukesha, Jonathan (Linda) Neshek of Merton and Michael (Jodi) Neshek of Waukesha. He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren, Jennifer Burns, Robert Burns, Katie Teran, Angela (Jim) Dudley, Patrick Neshek, Paul Neshek, Jacob Neshek, Jonathan Meade, Amanda Meade, Emma Neshek, Alison Neshek, Taylor Neshek, Megan Neshek, Calli Neshek and Jessica Franklin; and three great-grandchildren, Adrianna Teran, Anthony Teran and Jacob Dudley. He is further survived by his brother, Harold Neshek of Black Creek; his sister, Monica Rymer of Crivitz; his sisters-in-law, Marge Neshek of Menasha, Patricia (Sam) Catarella of Barefoot Bay, Fla., and June Jerzy of Milwaukee; along with other relatives and friends. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Melissa Fry; and his twin brothers, Russell and Ralph. The funeral service for Eugene will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Boulevard in Waukesha; the Rev. George Stillman of First Baptist Church in Waukesha will be the officiant. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. today, Dec. 12, at the funeral home; a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A second visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday.
