WAUKESHA - Lyle R. Richards, 74, of Waukesha, was born to eternal life Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at his Waukesha residence. He was born Sept. 20, 1927, in Gresham, to Oley and Alice (nee Sullivan) Richards. Lyle graduated from Gresham High School in May 1945 and immediately went into the U.S. Army. He served briefly in the army during the occupation and returned to the United States and married Mary McNair. Lyle and Mary settled in Waukesha and Lyle began working at Briggs & Stratton, where he became a foreman in the time keeping department, where he worked until retirement. Lyle is survived by his wife, Mary Richards of Waukesha; and sons, Thomas Richards of Genesee and Ron Richards of Waukesha. He is also survived by sisters, Shirley (Damon) Szymanski of Pulaski, Dorothy (Marvin) Jeske of Appleton and Bonnie (Harlan) Hohn of Appleton. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the 8 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Rudolph-Larsen Bros. Funeral Home, 500 N. East Ave., Waukesha. Burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Waukesha. Rudolph-Larsen Bros. Funeral Home, 542-7111, is serving the family.
