SAN DIEGO, Calif. - George Haverstick, formerly of Waukesha, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at his home in San Diego, Calif. He was born in Waukesha on Feb. 8, 1926, the son of George and Mervyn Haverstick.

George was a graduate of Waukesha High School, and served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

After completing his military service, George attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, graduated from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania and received his law degree from the University of San Diego. He owned a private law practice in San Diego until his retirement.

George was a member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church in Waukesha and the Episcopal Cathedral in San Diego.

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Harry Croy of Pewaukee and Phillips, and his cousin, Patricia (Chester) Lee of Waukesha. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Private family services will be held in San Diego.
