FOND DU LAC - Former Waukesha resident Rita P. Scoigletti died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at the Lutheran Home in Fond du Lac at the age of 89. She was born March 7, 1911, in Malone, the daughter of Gregor and Johanna (nee Freund) Stephany.

Rita was a charter member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waukesha, the St. Mary’s Christian Mothers, the Ladies Auxiliary of The Knights of Columbus in Waukesha and the Senior Citizen’s Club.

She is survived by her brother, Harry (Dolores) Stephany, and her sisters, Adeline Brandt and Irma Zerneke, all of Fond du Lac. She is the grandmother of Patti, Jeff and Michael, the great-grandmother of Kelly, Tracy, Michael and Samantha, and the great-great-grandmother of Sierra, Bre and Michael. Also surviving are other relatives and friends. Rita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Michael, on June 18, 1989; her daughter, Joanne; and her brothers, Robert, Richard and Milton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 232 S. Peters Ave., Fond du Lac; the Rev. Patrick Heppe will celebrate Mass. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Waukesha.
