WAUKESHA - Lia Erin Schmidt, 22, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born on Aug. 8, 1978, to Jeff and Marlene (nee Morgan) Schmidt. Lia was a graduate of Catholic Memorial High School class of 1996 and was presently in her final year at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she was to graduate in May with a degree in occupational therapy.

Lia is loved and will be sadly missed by her parents, Jeff and Marlene Schmidt of Waukesha and her brother, Michael Schmidt of Winter Park, Fla.; her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Helen Morgan of Des Moines, Iowa; and two aunts, Kathleen Morgan of Des Moines and Helen Schmidt of West Allis. Lia is also survived by her fiance', Jeremy Moungey of Madison, and other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Dr. B.V. Morgan O.D., and paternal grandparents, Edward and E. June Schmidt.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Highway 59, Waukesha. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Glenn Graczyk officiating.
