Joseph Jimenez

WAUKESHA - Joseph Jimenez, 101, of Waukesha, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, peacefully at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Celaya, Gto, Mexico on May 25, 1899, to the late Perfecta (nee Martinez) and Lukas Jimenez. In 1919 he married Felisa M. Martinez, who preceded him in death on May 25, 1999. Mr. Jimenez was a Waukesha resident since 1920, a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and always looked forward to planting his vegetable and flower garden each year until he was 100 years old.

He will be sadly missed by his children, Anna Cantu and Mary (Timothy) Gonzales, both of Waukesha, Secora (Elias) Garza of Milwaukee, Lupe (Mickey) Jimenez of Waukesha; Esther (Robert) Finn of Jacksonville, N.C., Evelyn Lugo and Rose (Enrique) Chacon, both of Waukesha, and the Catarino Monreal family of Waukesha. Twenty-six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter, other relatives and many friends also survive. In addition to his wife, Felisa, he was preceded in death by his sister, Irinea; his grandson, Fernando Monreal; his granddaughter, Tracy Finn of North Carolina; his daughter, Elizabeth Monreal; and his sons-in-law, Aurelio Lugo and Lupe Cantu.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. today, Dec. 27, at the Randle-Dable Funeral Home; a prayer vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Services will continue on Thursday, Dec. 28, at the funeral home with closing prayers at 9:30 a.m., then on to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Graveside services will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery Chapel.
