‘Mr. Bill’ WAUKESHA - William H. Lutgen, "Mr. Bill," 84, of Waukesha died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 19, 1916, in Pewaukee, the eldest son of Louis and Edna (nee Hoyt) Lutgen. On Dec. 27, 1941, he married the former Dorothy Gregersen in Wauwatosa. William was an electrician by trade, but loved volunteer work: the Boy Scouts, church, R.S.V.P., Salvation Army and the Department of Aging all knew his willing nature. Many school children will remember him as a crossing guard, a job that he took very seriously. He spend four years in military service during World War II, was a member of the Waukesha Church of the Nazarene, and worked with his wife for 19 months as house parents at the Florida Sheriffs Boys Ranch. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy, and their children, William D. (Jane) Lutgen of LaFayette, Ind., and Lorelynne (Philipp) Nelesen of Sheboygan; his grandchildren, Greg (Kathy) Lutgen of Kokomo, Ind., Jeff Lutgen of West LaFayette, Ind., the Rev. Marc (Tracy) Nelesen of Zeeland, Mich., and Robert Nelesen of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and twin great-grandchildren, Levi and Mariah Nelesen of Zeeland. He is further survived by his sister-in-law, Doris Lutgen of Pewaukee, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lewis. Complete funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave. Friends may call today at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. service. Mr. Lutgen’s grandson, the Rev. Marc Nelesen, is officiating. Burial will be in Wauwatosa Cemetery. Memorials to the Salvation Army or the Waukesha Heart Institute are appreciated.
