WAUKESHA - Lydia Buchanan (nee Svitavsky), 89, of Muskego, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, at Virginia Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Racine on Feb. 13, 1911, to Vincent and Maimi (nee Ruzicka) Svitavasky.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Betty (Richard) Cultice of Waukesha; her grandson, Richard (Cheryl) Cultice Jr. and her great-grandson, Ehren Cultice, all of Waukesha. She is further survived by two sisters and two brothers, Marie Wallat and Georgia Soens, both of Racine, Charles (Emily) Svitavsky of Racine and Theodore (Eldeen) Svitavsky of Presque Isle; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Woodrow and Betty Svitavsky; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Buchanan, in 1942, and by her brothers, Vincent Svitavsky, Leo Svitavsky and Thomas Woodrow.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
