EAST TROY - Doris Pluess, 75, of East Troy, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at Kiwanis Manor. Doris was born May 28, 1925, the daughter of Carol and LaVerne (Williams) Deakin, in Cambria, where she received her education. On Oct. 21, 1948, she married Kenneth in Pardeeville. He preceded her in death in 1996. Doris was a lifetime resident of East Troy, where she was a homemaker. She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary, past member of East Troy Lioness, lifetime member of the Good Sam Club and a registered nurse. She attended St. Peter’s Catholic Church in East Troy. Doris is survived by her sons, Bill of Greenfield, Norman (Diane), Don (Sherry) and Dale, all of East Troy; a daughter, Linda Burie of East Troy; 19 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; other relatives and many friends. She is further survived by her brothers and sisters, Marjorie (Merwin) Sommers, Jeanne (Tom) Moulton, Morris (Diane) Deakin and George (Virginia) Deakin, all of Cambria. She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Phyllis Deakin. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Heritage Funeral Home, 2974 Main St. in East Troy. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Louis Luljak officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Kiwanis Manor are appreciated. Heritage Funeral Home, 642-5057, is serving the family.
